Enjoy our past in photo through the Family Album

The family albums are divided by family name.  Be sure to check the RESCUE page.  These are photos we have aquired and will make available to you.  If you recognize the subjects in these photos or the names (if we have them) let us know.  We aren't trying to make money on these photos.  We are simply trying to reunite them with the families they belong to.

Our Family Names

We are concerned with 4 family names.  On Steve's side via his Dad is the Rowlett name and via his Mom is the Colber name.  On Michelle's side via her Dad is the Mann/Manns name and via her Mom the Brown name.

We will try to find the origins of these names and include them here.

The Rowlett family was from Northampton County England, with the first
immigrant to Virginia being John Rowlett about 1630.

MANNS Spelling variations include: Mann, Mangus, Man and others. First found in Aberdeen where they held a family seat from ancient times. Some of the first settlers of this name or some of its variants were: Deborah Man who settled in the Barbados in 1667; Daniel Man settled in Boston Mass. in 1651; Barnard Man settled in the Barbados in 1680 with his wife and servants.

BROWN Spelling variations include: Brown, Broun, Brun and others. First found in Cumberland, where the brown family was seated from very early times, having been granted lands by Duke William of Normandy, their liege Lord, for their distinguished assistance at the Battle of Hastings in 1066 A.D. Some of the first settlers of this name or some of its variants were: Abigail Brown, who settled in Maryland in 1668; Alex Brown, who immigrated to Boston in 1763; Richard Brown, who came to Maryland in 1774; Hugh Brown and his wife Margory, who emigrated from Scotland to Philadelphia in 1775.

We hope that you enjoy this site as much as we do!

If you have family photos that you would like to share simply e-mail them to us if possble and we will try and get them on this site.  Please try to include the names of the subjects in the photos.  We will not post pictures here of living family members without the express consent from them.
